Please provide summaries for your edits
Hi Winterheart,
I'm writing to thank you for your hard work in keeping our wiki up-to-date. Your contributions are greatly appreciated by the community and wiki team.
I'm also writing to ask a small favor; when editing wiki articles, please take advantage of the "Summary" function. This will help the wiki team to quickly and easily track changes to articles.
Even a brief summary can be helpful to the wiki team. It allows them (and other contributors like us) to quickly see what's changed in an article, and it makes it easier for us to review and approve changes.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. I look forward to continuing to work with you to ensure that the Gentoo wiki remains a valuable resource for our community.
Thanks!

Dist Kernel with Catalyst
Hi Winterheart,
I've been using your patch to enable use of the dist kernel in live media however I'm noticing some issues with increased ram requirements so I'm hoping there is a chance we could have quick chat on irc.gentoo.org #gentoo-releng to look over this together. Sorry for using the wiki to contact you but it's the only method I know to get hold of you.

- Hello again, I'm sure you showed me this last time but how do you add out of tree kernel modules to gentoo-kernel inside Catalust again please or was it a fever dream that showed it me out added this?
- Hi. Trick is that you need add out-of-kernel modules in stage2 of livecd like this:
boot/kernel/gentoo/sources: gentoo-kernel boot/kernel/gentoo/packages: net-firewall/xtables-addons sys-boot/grub sys-fs/zfs
- And you should keep them outside of stage1. There issue on building kernel with some USE-flag configurations, but this was long ago, and I don't remember proper solution on it. --Winterheart (talk) 21:56, 2 July 2024 (UT
