Small changes that nevertheless make constitutional differences to how the wiki is used regularly occur. Things like new templates, changes to guidelines, or large reworks of articles are often of interest, and this page aims to be a handy place to learn of and keep track of such changes.

Most of these entries will not be "big news", but they will often be useful to know about. To follow the most important changes to the documentation wiki, see the wiki news. Entries are in roughly chronological order.

2024

• {{Proposal}} template for suggesting changes to protected pages in their talk pages

2023

• 12-05 - After being deprecated for a very long time, the #gentoo-doc IRC channel is finally shuttered
• The "Gentoo Projects" link that was in the "Gentoo" menu has moved: it can now be found in the "Documentation" menu
• There are now instructions on how to retire projects on the wiki
• New changelog for the Gentoo Handbooks
• Proctors reintegrated into ComRel
• The {{Archived}} template now accepts a "reason" parameter, to provide a handy way of explaining why an article is no longer useful
• Updates to project wiki form
• New IRC bot for the wiki's recent changes!
• The {{Link}} template becomes the proper way to add links to articles
• Wiki emails to Gmail accounts issue has been fixed!
