Confusing directions

What is 'non-NPTL'? I couldn't find any current profiles that mentioned anything for this. The 'use' flags contain nptl so I'm assuming placing 'USE="-nptl"' in the make.conf should be sufficient?

I found the ARCH=um flag to be misleading (thought it was for the kernel config file). For anyone confused by this you need to use it like this: "make ARCH=um menuconfig" Then specify it again when compiling like this: "make ARCH=um linux" — The preceding unsigned comment was added by Pickledpiper (talkcontribs) 2016-05-28

At 2020 that article is completely outdated, and any information should be checked. I'll try to add warning At this moment content of article is completely outdated and should be checked accurately. For example, tun network transport is suggested to removal and is replaced with VectorIO driver (that have not docs yet). So maybe I create new guide for 2020 year when I get my own working configuration. --RarogCmex (talk) 10:21, 30 June 2020 (UTC)
