This discussion is still ongoing.
The reason I've marked the article as outdated is that the commands from the Usage section no longer exist. udisks command was replaced by udisksctl (maybe after switch to version 2?). Also it doesn't look like adding the user to plugdev group as described in the Groups section is a necessary step of the configuration. The group doesn't exist after the package is installed, is not mentioned in udisks man page and it seems the program is working fine without it.
