Maybe there is a good idea to merge section "Choosing a mirror" and mirrorselect. Sooner or later SYNC article will be remove when variable will be remove so I think link to mirrorselect is better solution

- It took a while for mirrorselect helper tool to be updated to support adjusting the repos.conf/gentoo.conf file. I'd like to keep this article for historical purposes. --Maffblaster (talk) 23:54, 17 April 2017 (UTC)
