Linking to templates located in User: namespace

I've noticed you've been linking some of the new templates you've created in your userspace to this any a few other of the meta articles. You will see I have (temporarly) removed the links until these new templates are documented and moved into the Template: namespace. Please work on documenting how these new templates work and move them before linking articles in the Main: namespace to them. This will help ensure the templates are reviewable by other wiki users/editors.

It is generally bad form for other wiki editors to edit anything found in another User: namespace, but I am happy to review them and help with documentation. Between two, I would like to discuss the {{Ec}} template before using further on the wiki. I'm thinking perhaps the existing {{C}} and {{InfoBox manpage}} templates may be adjusted to add the features you're wanting with the {{Ec}} and {{InfoBox localman}} templates respectively.

If you'd like you can set a time and we can discuss in #gentoo-wiki (webchat).

Thanks for the explanations ! Sorry for making work for you :/.

I don't know what time it was your end, but it was around 5 am here xD. Now it's lunchtime.

When I make edits that need correcting, I don't mind being told that things need changing, if it's easier for you: I'm sure you have enough on your plate without mopping up my inexperience xD.

I've skimmed through your comments, I'm sure you're right in what you suggest. I'll try to take the time to read through properly and think about it today or tomorrow, and get back to you. I did put a little thought into why and how an "{{Ec}} style" template may be of use - though I accept that it may not be desirable, or may be already covered...

If such templates can be useful, I'll be happy to rework and document them.

I'll see if I can get HexChat to make a noise when my nick is mentioned... though these past few days I've been looking into Matrix and Elixir - and getting quite excited xD. Kyoreln (talk) 12:50, 9 August 2021 (UTC)
