Update the boot loader
Talk status
This discussion is still ongoing.
Recently info about updating the boot loader (configuration) was added to Kernel/Upgrade. That makes completely sense to me, but I notice that it is also part of this page. Is it ever necessary to update the boot loader configuration when rebuilding an existing kernel? I don't think so, so I suggest moving/deleting the info from this page. Or we should at least maintain the info in one location. (Hansfn (talk) 10:48, 25 March 2020 (UTC))
- There are many situations where users might want to check what's needed to rebuild the kernel while they are not interested in kernel upgrade. As an example see this section in the Printing article. That's the reason why so many articles are linking here.--Charles17 (talk) 15:12, 25 March 2020 (UTC)
