Many references to the same link

Charles, be careful not to be over zealous with too many references to the same liked resource in the same article. It has been good that you are providing resources to the read through cross references across related articles, but too many links can be more of a distraction. For example, this edit you linked to the same unicode resource three times in the body of the same article:

https://wiki.gentoo.org/index.php?diff=381992&oldid=325480&rcid=391560

Be careful with his. Usually one link in the body of the article and perhaps on link in either See also or External resources is probably enough linking to a single resource.

Sincerely,

Requesting more information about ThinkPad X1C 5th hardware

Hi, thanks for your notes on your X1 Carbon installation. In them, you mention the wireless card worked fine

I'm curious as to what your NIC is. Could you perhaps provide the output of lspci on that wiki page?

Best,

--Jreut (talk) 00:28, 28 November 2017 (UTC)

Did you mean this edit? My NIC is on another computer.--Charles17 (talk) 10:27, 28 November 2017 (UTC)

World set (Portage): deleting of the warning

Charles17, the warning is important because the user must be informed of problems potentially caused by the application. Why not also add this warning on the application page? You can understand why I am not satisfied with your decision. --Feng (talk) 07:28, 15 January 2018 (UTC)

IRC conversation followup

Hi. I replied to you on IRC before noticing you has left. cp reply:

<vaukai> kyoran: as you are investing much time and energy in assigning articles to categories, may I ask what's your motivation behind? Personally I don't see much benefit in having all those categories ...

<kyoran> vaukai: To be honest I didn't really think about the merits of assigning articles to categories... I just saw that there are categories such as "Archive utilities" or "Daemons", so when I noticed "PCManFM" wasn't in any category, I added the "File manager" category, rather than just using "category:software".

<kyoran> Apart from this category, I really haven't put much effort into categorization, just some random changes for things I noticed...

<kyoran> Since there may be a small ocean to boil to have everything totally compete and perfect, I've just bean heating saucepans as I come across them xD. I find the harder task is in understanding how things work, to be able to write up instructions - and I think this would be much, much, easier if there was comprehensive documentation available xD.

All the best. Kyoreln (talk) 19:38, 6 August 2021 (UTC)
