Please rewrite the sections where PORTDIR_OVERLAY is mentioned as that variable is deprecated and not the correct way.
A real local repository should be created and crossdev will happily use any one of them with -oS and/or the -oO options so long as they are predefined in repos.conf ahead of time. See also this article for its priority list when not using either of these options. --Grknight (talk) 18:12, 18 March 2021 (UTC)
