Squirrelmail package update?

Talk status
This discussion is still ongoing.

I wonder if the page needs to be updated with a reference to the squirrelmail package and/or with a note about how to find or get the squirrelmail-... that is referenced in the page.

I would highly discourage using Squirrelmail particularly version 1.4.22. It has not seen an official release in 5 years, does not work with the latest PHP versions and likely to be riddled with security holes. Yes, the SVN master on SourceForge seems to have fixed a lot of issues, but they need a real release before I reconsider my position. --Grknight (talk) 19:44, 21 November 2016 (UTC)
I understand that Squirrelmail is crufty, but that is what is being recommended on the page. If there is a better package for webmail on Gentoo it should be substituted. And there is still the problem of not giving any indication to less experienced users on where to find the mentioned packages.

If newaliases fails, add berkdb flag to mail-mta/postfix. MMMMM (talk)
