Try "man bash" and reading "Readline Initialization". In brief, the /etc/inputrc and respective $HOME/inputrc file(s) are referenced or used by Bash's readline. I have just quickly updated the section. --Roger (talk) 15:57, 20 November 2016 (UTC)
