Project listing |
The Gentoo Dotnet project is an effort to provide support for the .NET Core development platform within the Gentoo Linux operating system and a comprehensive set of packages for the .NET ecosystem, including the .NET SDK, development tools, and popular applications written using .NET.
Challenges
One of the primary challenges of the Gentoo Dotnet project is ensuring that all of the packages are well-integrated with the rest of the Gentoo Linux system. Another challenge is keeping up with the rapidly-evolving .NET ecosystem, as new SDK versions, tools, and libraries are released on a regular basis.
We are also working on retiring packages that used to use the old Mono C# compiler and replace them with the new compiler shipped with .NET SDK (>=6.0).
