Category talk:Home server
Sadly very empty
Hello, could we start to add some more stuff in here ? I think that is a veryyy interesting subject.
The only thing reported here is «JellyFin».
Since it seems to be more an index that a true wiki’s page, I guess these subsection could be added:
- Web server (Apache2, NGinX, Lighttpd…) => How to setup an HTTP service
- Database (MySQL / MariaDB, PostgreSQL, SQLite as NoSQL since it’s needed for some CMS, as DokuWiki) => How to add and sets a Database with a web server
- Interactivity (PHP, Python, Tomcat, etc) => How to setup PHP / Python and other to use CMS and more.
- CMS (most common for webhosting, as blogging, file sharing, etc) => Settings up the most common CMS
- Local and remote access (SSH/sFTP from LAN and WAN, settings minors protection against undesired connection attempt, etc) => How to allow access or block it from LAN or WAN
- Security concern (from the basics to Hardened) => Everything that is worth concerning in the case of a server accessible on Internet
- Data sharing (could take in account Jellyfin I suppose, but also NFS files sharing, etc) => Sharing file, images and everything that we might want.
I’m out of more ideas for now.

- With respect, feel free to do it yourself ;)
- I've done the job of looking for the categories for you. If you need help, make sure you've read Help:Categories, then you can ask me for directions.

- No problem, of course, I am just afraid to mess around and push under-quality things, was not demanding anything :).
- I’ll try to take a look then, at least build the skeletons. Thanks for your reply.
