- Almost all of them require flashing a custom firmware (or to use u-boot (or other loaders) in the case of ARM models), so these devices are not standard laptops, it is impossible (for some models it is possible) to just insert a USB stick with a Gentoo live image and boot. So this category simplifies the search in case someone wants to buy a Chromebook willing to install Gentoo. A person can check all Chromebooks from the category and choose a model with the latest\more complete documentation. --Lars Hint (talk) 07:24, 28 April 2024 (UTC)
