regarding ovirt page change. there is no reasy not use layman any more... newer protage supports repos.d, for example put the following at /etc/portage/repos.conf/ovirt-overlay.conf:
[ovirt-overlay] location = /usr/local/portage/ovirt-overlay sync-type = git sync-uri = https://github.com/alonbl/ovirt-overlay
