Kernel live check

Abstract

The goal of this project is to make a tool for receiving security patches and live updating the kernel by adding a testing feature to Gentoo Kernel CI and creating kernel_check ebuild. And creating a faster Gentoo Kernel source releasing schedule using CI tools.

4th May - 30th May : Community Bonding Period

  • Understanding build bot

31st May - 30th June: Adding features to Gentoo Kernel CI using build bot to receive kernel security updates and to build and test them.

30th June : Phase 1 Evaluation deadline

1st July - 28th July: Creating the kernel_check ebuild for managing kernel patching.

28th July : Phase 2 Evaluation deadline

28th July - 29th August: Creating a faster Gentoo Kernel source releasing schedule using CI tools.

29th August : Final Evaluation

Biography

I am a 2nd year undergraduate student of the department of mining engineering, Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur. I have recently moved to Gentoo as my primary .

Commitment

I can easily devote 35-40 hours a week to the project (or even more if required) beginning from May till the end of program
