Install Gentoo on Asus E203NA with Full Disk Encryption

General Install

Handbook:AMD64 default/linux/amd64/17.1/desktop/gnome/systemd branch.

Encryption Tutorial

Full Disk Encryption From Scratch Simplified

Make sure "echo "sys-boot/grub:2 device-mapper" >> /etc/portage/package.use/sys-boot" before compiling grub as it will not detected the uuid of your emmc module otherwise.

Kernel Config

Here is my modded kernel config file to load into genkernel. All hardware should work out of box with this kernel config. Audio, Touchpad, Wifi, Bluetooth, and Camera, eMMC, and SDCard Reader. As well as Bluetooth Audio. Install "blueman" as it works for connecting devices over the standard Gnome Settings tool.

root #genkernel --luks --lvm --no-zfs --menuconfig all

Load .config.asus into genkernel. save as .config. and exit. It will compile the kernel with all needed modules.

Install GDM

root #emerge --ask gdm

GNOME/Guide#Enabling GDM

Done

sometimes building gnome from the installer can be a bit of a mess. I would recommend building world again after the installer to see if it has any quarks. emerge gnome-base/gnome gnome-base/gnome-extra-apps to see if it finds anything new to install. and emerge --ask --verbose --update --deep --changed-use @world after initial build found a bunch of missed packages for me
