Greetings from maffblaster!

Hello Carel ,

Welcome to the Gentoo wiki! I'm glad to see you are making bold moves to improve the wiki. There are lots of things to do around here... In case you need any assistance please contact me on #gentoo-wiki (webchat) via Freenode IRC (if you use it) or leave a message on my personal user discussion page. I will usually be able to respond in a relatively short amount of time.

Happy improvements!

Hi Matthew Marchese (maffblaster) , Thanks for the welcome, I'll do what I can. Do you by any chance know how one might attach a file to a wiki article, I haven't found any examples for this just yet.

P.s. I rather like the look and feel of the site btw. :D

"Creating patches"

Thanks for your input to the /etc/portage/patches article. But would you please consider moving that section about Creating patches to its own article. Why I am asking this? Creating a patch is not at all specific to the /etc/portage/patches directory and not even to Gentoo in general but can be very helpful also for Gentoo Github, for Basic guide to write Gentoo Ebuilds and maybe for some other places. There has already been an older revision of the /etc/portage/patches article attempting to explain how to create a patch. Recently, I replaced it with another example just focusing on how a patch can be applied.--Charles17 (talk) 07:49, 30 July 2017 (UTC)

Hi Charles17 , I went ahead and applied the suggested changes. I'm not entirely sure what to adopt from the linked diff but I think I've made a good bash at an initial stub. If I get more time I'll try to incorporate the "Clean Patches" article. Which would make the stub more of a respectable article. --Carel (talk) 13:22, 31 July 2017 (UTC)
