Putting my thoughts here, because I don't get the page translation stuff. If the build of a big package got interrupted, for example because it ran out of disk space or the computer shut-down, and you want to continue the build, run 'FEATURES="keepwork" emerge --resume'. This way emerge will re-use the files that were already built. References: manpage make.conf and https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-451739-start-0.html. Columbus (talk) 05:50, 21 May 2021 (UTC)

First off, this is a horrible idea. The work can be in any partial state and fail anyway. Second, this is not the purpose of keepwork. Its purpose is for developers to analyze after building. Third, it requires users to know to clean this up themselves after the fact. The only correct and safe way to resume is from the beginning. Doing this is not supported and the first thing you will be asked to do is rebuild anyway on an issue. --Grknight (talk) 12:49, 21 May 2021 (UTC)

Subsume into make.conf article ?

I know this would loose some translations, but this info seems not exceptionally important, is short, and is covered in the make.conf man page also. Wouldn't it be better to have a more compact article structure, even if this looses some translation ? -- Ris (talk) 17:50, 9 May 2022 (UTC)

No. It's too important to get mixed somewhere else. Please keep this article.

OK. But the intention wasn't to decrease visibility at all ;). Great addition to have, that Usage section, Vaukai :). -- Ris (talk) 03:06, 10 May 2022 (UTC)
