Additional fallback for Method 1
Talk status
This discussion is still ongoing.
On my system (ASRock Z77 Extreme 4 motherboard), while in SetupMode, all instructions (main and fallback) outlined in Method 1 failed with some kind of permissions error. However, I was still able to set all variables using the authenticated lists: efi-updatevar -f $var.auth $var
(using compound variables where needed).
Maybe this could be mentioned in case other people encounter this.
Cheers, and thank you so much for this awesome resource!
