Nomination of deletion

Talk status
This discussion is done as of 2022-01-19.

I've nominated this page for the following reasons:

  1. It uses pastebin.com references which will disappear and can be harmful to a user
  2. It uses a patched, unverified bootloader which could be used to rootkit a system

Please give good reason and cleanup of the above points and we can consider keeping this. --Grknight (talk) 17:44, 5 May 2019 (UTC)

What do I need to do to remove the nomination for deletion? Share the scripts directly here on Wiki? I tried but it messes up the markup of the scripts

UPDATE: I deleted the external pastebin links and pasted the scripts here. Nvaert1986 (talk) 19:34, 5 May 2019 (UTC)

Zigford (talk) 19:55, 22 October 2019 (UTC) This article is a valuable resource for those attempting to get flicker free boot running on Gentoo. I'd spent a good many hours on other grub/plymouth wiki articles but this one works because it references external sources. Until those external sources (of grub) are included upstream by default, please keep this article around.

Although unverified boot loaders can be used to rootkit a system, I highly doubt that a fedora version of GRUB from Red Hat® would do that. EFISTUB might be a better alternative though, and it will be simpler for users. Should I replace GRUB with EFISTUB? --Trainz-are-kul (talk) 08:41, 6 June 2020 (UTC)
Trainz-are-kul , yes, updating for EFI stub would be best, and it looks like you have done so according to this edits [[Special:Diff/937170/937176}}. Since someone should make a decision, I will... we will keep this article since significant improvement efforts were made from the community. --Maffblaster (talk) 19:15, 19 January 2022 (UTC)
