May be worth to mention the Emacs tools like in Basic_guide_to_write_Gentoo_Ebuilds#How_to_create_an_ebuild?--Charles17 (talk) 07:08, 23 June 2020 (UTC)

I can't get it to work like that. With ebuild-mode installed and (require 'site-gentoo) (require 'ebuild-mode) in my ~/.emacs.el it still doesn't create a skeleton-structured .ebuild file. It's empty. So it doesn't seem to work out-of-the-box as well as with vim.
Tried without ~/.emacs.el at all and it doesn't work.

Myself I am not an Emacs user. So I never tried. That sentence was added by Ulm. Maybe he could explain how to use it.

Okay, I got it by reading /usr/share/info/ebuild-mode.info.bz2. It's still a lot more steps compared to vim, maybe still worth mentioning.

It is done now, thanks. Juippis (talk) 12:32, 23 June 2020 (UTC)
