Hi folks,

The term "overlay" is a deprecated term. I've been substituting the term "overlay" in lots of articles here on the wiki with "ebuild repository". I think this project should be renamed. Yes, it is going to generate some work, but I think it's worth it in the long run. I'm happy to help. --Maffblaster (talk) 00:30, 25 May 2017 (UTC)

I doubt the project will never be renamed. The term "overlay" does work well as a colloquial term to describe ebuild repositories. Closing this discussion for now. --Maffblaster (talk) 09:41, 26 June 2022 (UTC)
