EM64T

Isn't EM64T the older (former) name for "Intel 64"? Intel, hesitant to implement a 64-bit x86 in the first place (since they had IA-64, i.e. Itanium), started to go with AMD's x86-64 (released as AMD64) as "IA-32e" (for "Intel Architecture 32-Bit extensions"), then as EM64T ("Extended Memory 64 Technology") and as of 2006 as "Intel 64" (just like AMD64).

Therefore, shouldn't EM64T be changed to Intel 64?

See also Project Talk:X86#clarification, that "x86" in this article is actually 32-bit x86.

Looks like this issue has been solved, since I don't see any mention of EM64T. Closing.

Well, in Project:AMD64's "Project" template, named "AMD64 Development", the description still reads:
"The AMD64 Project is devoted to providing stable, secure and up-to-date releases of Gentoo for the AMD64 and EM64T processor families."
So there's still "EM64T"... Luttztfz (talk) 11:55, 3 April 2024 (UTC)
Ah, for some reason my Ctrl-F didn't catch that. Reopening the issue. Feel free to delete my responses if you want to keep the discussion clean. — glibg10b 12:01, 3 April 2024 (UTC)

Mention that AMD64, x86-64 and x64 are the same

It should also be made clear to the reader, that alternative terms for AMD64 are x86-64 and x64.
