Linking to "Full" parts

As per this discussion, I suggest the table code in this Handbook page be replaced by the following:

EDIT: Large block of code removed since it was introduced verbatim into the page in this edit.

In this version…

  1. The "Handbook (Main)" link at the top has been changed to display as "<architecture> Handbook" and link to the page "Handbook:<architecture>" (e.g., "AMD64 Handbook" linked to Handbook:AMD64).
  2. The style code color: white; has been moved into a <span> tag inside the link text, since otherwise the link color (blue if unvisited, purple if visited) overrides the table cell text color (as seen in the current version of this page).
  3. The words "Installation", "Working with Gentoo", "Working with Portage", and "Network configuration" have been linked to appropriate "Full" Handbook pages, depending on which architecture's Handbook this is used in.

To the right you can see what this will look like if used on a page in the AMD64 Handbook.

EDIT: Example table removed since the results are now visible on Handbook pages — e.g., at Handbook:AMD64/Installation/About.

You should be able to copy and paste the code displayed above, but it might be "safer" to copy and paste it from the wikicode source of this comment. - dcljr (talk) 05:26, 24 February 2017 (UTC)

I accept the proposed changes. I'll merge them now... --Maffblaster (talk) 17:50, 24 February 2017 (UTC)

Looks like stage3 replaced with stage. Then we can replace it in TOC too. --Cronolio (talk) 18:05, 11 July 2017 (UTC)

Hey... guess what? I finally got around to doing this. See: Special:Diff/1272210/1272211. Miss you man! --Maffblaster (talk) 07:49, 3 January 2024 (UTC)
