Lua is a powerful light-weight programming language designed for extending applications. It can be embedded into various application as scripting language.

Installation

USE flags

USE flags for dev-lang/lua A powerful light-weight programming language designed for extending applications

deprecated make deprecated data structures/routines available
emacs Add support for GNU Emacs
readline Enable support for libreadline, a GNU line-editing library that almost everyone wants
static !!do not set this during bootstrap!! Causes binaries to be statically linked instead of dynamically
test Enable dependencies and/or preparations necessary to run tests (usually controlled by FEATURES=test but can be toggled independently)
test-complete Run the complete (non-portable) testsuite

Emerge

Currently dev-lang/lua available only for 5.1 branch. Other versions temporarily masked.

root #emerge --ask dev-lang/lua
